Amandeep Hospitals, in partnership with Ujala Cygnus, has inaugurated North India’s first hospital‑based 3D printing and virtual reality technology facility, marking a historic advancement in medical technology integration and patient-centric innovation. The facility, located at Amandeep Ujala Hospitals in Amritsar, positions the city as a regional hub for advanced surgical planning and customised treatment solutions.

The launch establishes Amandeep Hospitals in collaboration with Ujala Cygnus as one of the few institutions in India to integrate 3D printing technology directly into clinical practice. Surgeons can now create highly accurate anatomical models, patient-specific surgical guides, and customised implants for complex orthopaedic, trauma, spine, maxillofacial, and reconstructive procedures, bringing advanced digital fabrication tools into everyday hospital workflows for the first time in North India.

The 3D printing and VR technology allows for development of patient-specific anatomical models, creation of customised surgical jigs and guides for joint replacement and deformity correction, and production of tailored 3D-printed implants, enhancing surgical precision, reducing operative time, improving alignment accuracy, and ultimately improving patient outcomes. The technology also supports training, simulation, and medical education, strengthening skill development and procedural preparedness.

The initiative further reinforces Amandeep Hospitals’ reputation, in partnership with Ujala Cygnus, as a pioneer in robotics, AI-driven diagnostics, advanced orthopaedics, and trauma care. The Amandeep Group has expanded into a network of over 750 beds with more than 170 expert doctors across six locations, including two in Amritsar and one each in Pathankot, Ferozepur, Srinagar, and Tarn Taran, and has treated more than 25 lakh patients to date, setting new benchmarks in healthcare delivery.

The launch event was attended by Dr. Abhijat Sheth, Chairman of the National Medical Commission, highlighting institutional recognition and support for the adoption of hospital-based advanced medical technologies.
