AIIMS-Bhubaneswar has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KIIT Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation to accelerate healthcare innovation and foster clinical entrepreneurship in Odisha.

The collaboration seeks to build a strong ecosystem for developing, validating, and deploying healthcare technologies while attracting healthcare startups to the state. It also envisions the establishment of joint Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in healthcare, diagnostics, and digital health.

Highlighting the partnership’s focus, AIIMS Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas said the initiative will advance technology development, intellectual property (IP) management, and clinical entrepreneurship. Together, AIIMS-BBS, KIIT-TBI, and BCKIC will work on innovation programmes, startup boot camps, regulatory workshops, and investor roundtables. The alliance will also support real-world validation of healthcare solutions such as telemedicine platforms and AI-driven diagnostic tools.

KIIT-TBI CEO Mrutyunjay Suar noted that the planned CoE will feature advanced diagnostic tools, research facilities, and clinical validation pathways. The MoU signing was also attended by BCKIC CEO and KIIT-TBI advisor Namrata Misra, AIIMS Dean (Research) Dr. Satyajeet Misra, and KIIT-TBI Manager (Tech-Innovation) Jayalaxmi Dash.
