Zepto has made its foray into the e-pharmacy sector with the launch of Zepto Pharmacy, offering delivery of essential medicines in just 10 minutes. The service is currently available in select locations across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad.
Aadit Palicha, Co-Founder and CEO of Zepto, shared that the company has spent the past year fine-tuning its customer experience, supply chain, and regulatory compliance on a limited scale. “Our goal is to maintain exceptionally high operational standards rather than rush into aggressive expansion, given the complexities of this category,” he said.
This move marks a notable diversification for the quick-commerce giant, best known for its instant grocery delivery model. “If executed well, this service has the potential to greatly improve access to critical medicines for millions across India,” Palicha added.
Unlike grocery delivery, the pharmaceutical business demands strict regulatory adherence, careful handling of temperature-sensitive products, and prescription verification. Palicha emphasized that the company’s priority will remain operational excellence over speed of scale.
