Proscia®, a leader in pathology AI, announced the integration of AI biomarker detection for skin tissue into its Concentriq® software platform, aiming to enhance pathologist efficiency and precision. Powered by Primaa, the new Cleo Skin* module reinforces Concentriq’s position as the platform offering the broadest portfolio of AI solutions in pathology.

Dermatopathology is one of the most complex areas of pathology, encompassing over 500 distinct classifications. Diagnostic challenges are compounded by variability in interpretation, with inter-observer concordance estimated at 90–95%, though differentiating malignant melanoma from benign melanocytic nevi can remain particularly difficult.

“This addition underscores our commitment to making AI practical where it can have the greatest impact,” said David West, CEO of Proscia. “By expanding our AI offerings in skin, we will enable pathologists to deliver faster, more consistent results in one of the most challenging areas of pathology, all within the workflows they trust.”

The Cleo Skin application automatically detects mitotic objects and mitotic hotspots, as well as perineural invasion, which are critical indicators of various skin diseases. Combined with lesion classification—including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma—the tool aims to streamline workflow and improve diagnostic precision. Additional capabilities include measuring tumor margins and lesion dimensions, supporting comprehensive evaluation of skin samples.

“We are proud to bring the capabilities of Cleo Skin to Concentriq,” said Fanny Sockeel, CEO of Primaa. “We are not only offering dermatopathologists the chance to deliver fast and confident results but also giving laboratories even more reason to advance their AI journey on Proscia’s platform.”

In addition to this integration, Primaa will join the Proscia Ready partner alliance, a network of solution providers dedicated to helping life sciences organizations and diagnostic laboratories accelerate scaled adoption of digital pathology with confidence through a comprehensive approach.

Note: This application is not intended for diagnostic use with Concentriq. Users should contact the original manufacturer for region-specific indications for use.
