Eros Innovation has announced the launch of Gujarat CARES 2025, a large-scale, AI-driven preventive healthcare initiative, in partnership with the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology (CCE), Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai. The programme will be powered by Eros GenAI, the company’s sovereign and ethical foundation-model platform designed for large-scale health analytics.
Gujarat CARES 2025 is being positioned as one of India’s most ambitious population-level preventive health programmes. It is structured as a longitudinal, multi-year cohort study that will analyse genetic, lifestyle, environmental, behavioural, and digital health determinants across a broad range of non-communicable diseases and wellness indicators.
The initiative will focus on multiple priority health domains, including cancer, diabetes and metabolic disorders, cardiovascular conditions, kidney and liver diseases, women’s health, mental health, stress-related biomarkers, ageing, and longevity. Data generated through the study will be integrated into Eros LifeScience’s AI Health Graph, supporting the development of early-warning digital biomarkers, personalised preventive health scores, longevity pathways, and population-level public health dashboards for use at state and national levels.
The programme will leverage Eros GenAI, which has been trained on more than 1.5 trillion tokens across structured lifestyle, behavioural, and cultural datasets. The platform has been purpose-built for health, wellness, and longevity analytics, with the stated objective of supporting India’s transition from treatment-centric healthcare models to prevention, early detection, and improved long-term outcomes.
Gujarat CARES 2025 will be conducted in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre institutions, including the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology and the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC). The study employs a longitudinal research methodology to investigate genetic, lifestyle, and environmental risk factors, combining epidemiological rigor with large-scale community engagement. It also represents an expansion of the Indian Study of Healthy Ageing (ISHA) and is being carried out by the Molecular Epidemiology and Population Genomics divisions of CCE across multiple regions, including Barshi, Varanasi, and Goa.
The findings from the programme are expected to generate high-quality, real-world evidence to support early detection strategies, personalised risk assessment, and the formulation of data-driven public health policies. The initiative is also expected to lay the groundwork for India’s first AI-powered public health prevention system, aligned with national health priorities and built on sovereign and ethical AI principles.
Insights from Gujarat CARES 2025 are anticipated to inform scalable preventive healthcare models not only for India but also for other emerging markets across Asia and beyond.
Eros LifeScience, the health and longevity arm of Eros Innovation, operates as an AI-driven preventive health platform that integrates lifestyle, laboratory, and, where applicable, genomic data to deliver personalised health dashboards, early risk detection tools, wellness guidance, and population health intelligence for government and public health systems.
