Medtronic has entered into a partnership with the Telangana State Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI Telangana) to train postgraduate students and early-career surgeons in advanced open and laparoscopic surgical techniques in India.

The collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding, is aimed at strengthening surgical capabilities by providing structured, skill-based training in minimally invasive surgery. The initiative combines Medtronic’s medical technology expertise with ASI Telangana’s academic and clinical leadership to support the professional development of residents, postgraduates, and young surgeons.

The training programme will follow a blended learning model, integrating interactive academic sessions with hands-on endo-trainer workshops. This approach is designed to offer participants practical exposure to laparoscopic procedures while reinforcing core surgical principles. The sessions will be led by experienced faculty from ASI and participating medical institutions to ensure high-quality, standardised learning aligned with the needs of early-career surgeons.

Through this partnership, Medtronic India and ASI Telangana aim to enhance access to advanced surgical training, strengthen laparoscopic skills at an early stage of clinical practice, and contribute to the continued development of surgical education and healthcare delivery in Telangana.
