Everbright Health, a tech-enabled services platform designed to help mental health providers deliver advanced interventions alongside traditional therapies, has officially launched with a $7 million seed investment and partnerships with over 75 providers across seven U.S. markets.
According to the National Institute of Health, nearly 60 million Americans live with a mental illness, and over 15 million experience serious mental illness (SMI). While mental health care has primarily relied on medication and talk therapy, up to half of those affected do not respond adequately to standard care.
Everbright Health supports psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists seeking an integrated approach that combines advanced treatments with existing modalities to offer personalized care and improve outcomes for hard-to-treat patients.
“Mental health care has made real progress in expanding access to therapy and medications,” said Ben Kuhn, Co-founder and CEO of Everbright Health. “But for millions of people, they need more. We're building a future where every mental health provider can deliver a full spectrum of care, including advanced interventions that many patients need to get better.”
The company’s initial focus is on broadening access to Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO®, two FDA-approved, evidence-based treatments for depression and other serious mental health conditions. Despite being up to twice as effective as standard treatments and covered by most insurance plans, over 90% of eligible patients have yet to receive these therapies because most mental health practices lack the specialized infrastructure required for delivery.
Everbright’s comprehensive platform enables mental health providers to seamlessly integrate advanced treatments into their practices through:
Clinical infrastructure: Providing specialized equipment and trained staff.
Tech platform: Leveraging AI to identify eligible patients, enhance engagement, and streamline prior authorizations.
Operational management: Handling eligibility verification, enrollment, treatment delivery, billing, and compliance workflows.
“Everbright made it possible for us to offer treatments we had long known about but weren’t equipped to deliver,” said Richard Connell, CEO of Oria Health, a 31-provider mental health practice in Central Texas. “They bring a turnkey model that fits into our existing practice, so our patients get access to more treatment options and a truly integrated care experience.”
Everbright Health was incubated by W Health Ventures and secured its $7 million seed funding from W Health Ventures and Sanos Capital, both focused on building next-generation healthcare companies.
“We're bullish on tech-enabled, asset-light management services organizations. This model makes it possible to build genuine partnerships with clinicians rather than compete with or employ them. When we couldn't find one in psychiatry, we built it ourselves,” said Dr. Pankaj Jethwani, Managing Partner at W Health Ventures. “Advanced psychiatric interventions are on the cusp of becoming mainstream care. With remarkable outcomes, we believe they are poised to have their own ‘GLP-1 moment’ for market adoption.”
