Tata 1mg, in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Lucknow, and QIAGEN, recently hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session focused on advancements in tuberculosis (TB) diagnostics—an area critical to tackling one of India’s most persistent public health challenges.

Despite being preventable and curable, tuberculosis continues to burden India’s healthcare system, making early detection and diagnostic innovation essential. The CME event, held in Lucknow, aimed to deepen clinical engagement and foster dialogue among healthcare professionals on emerging TB testing solutions.

The session featured two expert-led talks:

  • Dr. Swati Gupta, representing Tata 1mg, delivered a presentation on “Advances in Tuberculosis Diagnosis: A Laboratory Perspective,” emphasizing the role of evolving laboratory protocols in enabling timely and accurate TB detection.

  • Dr. Patitpaban Bhowmick from QIAGEN shared insights on “The Plus in QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus,” highlighting innovations in immunodiagnostic testing for latent TB infections.

The event was graced by Dr. Vikram Singh, Chief Medical Superintendent and Head of the Department of Medicine at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, who served as the Chief Guest.

Speaking after the event, representatives from Tata 1mg extended heartfelt thanks to the Lucknow medical community for their enthusiastic participation and thoughtful discussions.

“At Tata 1mg, we believe that progress in public health depends on knowledge-sharing, diagnostic innovation, and clinical collaboration. This session reflects our ongoing commitment to enabling better care through partnerships with clinicians and thought leaders,” the company noted in a statement.

The event marks another step in Tata 1mg’s mission to support healthcare professionals with cutting-edge insights and practical tools to combat tuberculosis more effectively across India.
