SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Core Diagnostics to enhance training and skill development in oncology genetic diagnostics.
The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by creating a structured pathway for students and healthcare professionals to gain hands-on experience in advanced cancer diagnostics. The initiative focuses on building a future-ready workforce equipped to meet the growing demand for precision oncology services.
Under the agreement, students will receive exposure to real-world diagnostic practices, including molecular testing and genomic analysis used in cancer detection and treatment planning. The partnership is expected to facilitate training programmes, internships, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions led by industry experts.
The move comes amid increasing adoption of genetic and molecular diagnostics in oncology, where personalised treatment approaches rely heavily on accurate genomic profiling. Strengthening talent in this domain is seen as critical to supporting the expansion of precision medicine in India.
The collaboration reflects a broader trend of academic–industry partnerships aimed at aligning curriculum, research and skill development with evolving healthcare technologies and clinical needs.
