BRIC–Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (BRIC-THSTI), in partnership with Miltenyi Biotec and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), has introduced India’s first practical training program focused on the foundations of cell and gene therapy (CGT) manufacturing, with dedicated emphasis on CAR-T cell therapy.
The initiative aims to close the gap between laboratory research and clinical application by providing early-career scientists and clinicians with in-depth, hands-on experience across the entire CGT development pathway—from preclinical work to GMP-aligned manufacturing and clinical translation.
The workshop, titled “CAR-T Cell Therapy Manufacturing Hands-on Workshop and Symposia,” is scheduled to be held at THSTI in the NCR Biotech Science Cluster from 12–14 November 2025.
Participants from research institutions, hospitals, and industry will undergo a three-day immersive training program following completion of Miltenyi University’s online preparatory curriculum.
This first-of-its-kind program integrates digital learning with practical sessions conducted at THSTI’s cell and gene therapy facility. The curriculum offers comprehensive exposure to CGT manufacturing processes, including preclinical development, closed-system cell processing, and stringent quality-control and compliance procedures.
Key Training Highlights:
Hands-on CAR-T cell manufacturing using the CliniMACS Prodigy system and MACSQuant® Analyzer for advanced cell analysis and quality-control testing
Training in in-process monitoring and quality-control workflows through CAR-T Express Modes
Continued learning support through virtual access to Miltenyi University’s curriculum
