The World Health Organisation (WHO) inaugurated its Pandemic Preparedness and Emergency Response site at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
The WHO said the site is part of a developing global network designed to enable rapid investigations and studies during pandemics or epidemics, ensuring swift and coordinated public health action. WHO Representative to India, Payden, and AIIMS Director, Dr. M. Srinivas, attended the launch.
Dr. Srinivas noted that the facility will remain operational even during non-pandemic periods to maintain readiness and ensure a strong, responsive system at all times.
