The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to roll out a new AYUSH mobile application developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, aimed at expanding access to traditional healthcare services across the state.
The app will provide patients with online outpatient department (OPD) services and comprehensive information on the five AYUSH systems — Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy. Users will be able to access details on various treatments, medicines, doctor profiles, nearby AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries, health tips, and information on government AYUSH schemes and programmes.
The platform is designed to allow users to book OPD appointments online, significantly reducing the need to stand in long queues at hospitals and AYUSH centres. It is expected to particularly benefit senior citizens, women, differently-abled individuals, and patients from remote areas by making healthcare services more convenient and accessible.
The app has been developed with a focus on ease of use, speed, reliability, and security, ensuring protection of patient data. Planned future enhancements include teleconsultation, digital health records, and access to online reports, which will enable patients to receive expert medical guidance from home.
