TN Govt Rolls Out Rs 360 Cr Health Infra Boost, CM Stalin To Inaugurate On Feb 6

By Team VOH

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is scheduled to inaugurate a series of health infrastructure projects in Tamil Nadu on February 6, with a total investment of around ₹360 crore aimed at strengthening public healthcare delivery across the state.

The cluster of facilities set to open includes new buildings for district headquarters hospitals, primary health centres (PHCs) and specialised research centres, including a microbiological research centre at Guindy. These additions are expected to enhance both accessibility and quality of government health services for residents in urban and rural areas.

The expansion of physical infrastructure comes alongside efforts to broaden the state’s preventive health outreach. The ongoing Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme, under which over 1,000 medical camps have already been held, continues to bring basic health services to communities statewide.

State authorities have also highlighted that Tiruchirappalli’s government hospital has completed a new building worth approximately ₹135 crore, which is slated to open for public use shortly, and cancer screening centres are being established in the city on par with facilities in major urban centres such as Chennai, Madurai and Thanjavur.

This phase of health infrastructure development builds on previous efforts to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s public healthcare network, with headquarters government hospitals operating in 17 districts and further funding routed to expand similar facilities in additional districts.
