Over 1.82 Lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs Operational Across India: Govt

By Team VOH

As many as 1,82,944 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) have been operationalised across the country as of 31 December 2025, according to data reported by States and Union Territories on the Ayushman Arogya Mandir portal. The AAMs have been developed by strengthening Sub Health Centres (SHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to expand access to comprehensive primary healthcare.

These centres provide 12 packages of primary healthcare services across urban, rural and tribal areas. The services include reproductive and child healthcare, management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, palliative and elderly care, mental health services, care for neurological conditions such as epilepsy and dementia, substance use disorder management, oral health, ENT care, and basic emergency services.

To support the expanded service delivery, the government has enhanced the availability of essential medicines and diagnostics. PHC-level AAMs now offer 172 drugs and 63 diagnostic services, while SHC-level AAMs provide 106 drugs and 14 diagnostic services.

The focus on underserved regions has led to significant progress in aspirational and tribal areas. As of December 31, 2025, 30,817 AAMs have been operationalised in 178 tribal districts across 26 States, while 24,327 AAMs are functional in 112 aspirational districts across 27 States.

The information was shared by the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on February 3, 2026.
