Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today launched the Strategy for AI in Healthcare for India (SAHI) and the Benchmarking Open Data Platform in Health AI (BODH), marking a significant step toward strengthening India’s digital health ecosystem.

Addressing the gathering, Nadda underscored that artificial intelligence in healthcare depends on robust digital infrastructure and access to high-quality data. He emphasised that India’s push towards AI-driven healthcare must be supported by strong governance mechanisms and reliable data frameworks to ensure safe and effective implementation.

Highlighting the significance of the initiatives, the Minister said that SAHI is more than just a technology blueprint. It serves as a governance framework, policy guide, and national roadmap aimed at shaping the future of India’s healthcare ecosystem. The strategy seeks to promote responsible AI adoption while fostering innovation and ensuring equitable access to healthcare services.

Speaking about BODH, Nadda noted that the platform has been developed through a government-academia collaboration and will function as a key benchmarking tool for AI solutions in healthcare. The platform is designed to evaluate, standardise, and enhance the quality and reliability of AI-based health technologies.

The launch of SAHI and BODH is expected to accelerate innovation, strengthen regulatory oversight, and make healthcare services more accessible, affordable, and equitable across the country. The initiatives align with the government’s broader vision of leveraging digital technologies to transform public health delivery and build a future-ready healthcare system.
