In a collaborative initiative, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital organized a preventive health check-up and consultation camp for Safai Mitras and PIB officials at Shastri Bhawan and the National Media Centre (NMC), New Delhi. The event was held under the banner of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025, running from 17 September to 2 October, with the objective of promoting holistic health and well-being, especially for sanitation staff and government employees.
At Shastri Bhawan, Ayurvedic consultations were conducted under the leadership of Dr. Rama Kant Yadava, Additional Professor, and Rajaram Mahto, Associate Professor in the Department of Kayachikitsa, AIIA. Meanwhile, at the National Media Centre, allopathic consultations were overseen by Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Professor of Medicine, and Dr. Ramesh Chand Meena, Associate Professor & Nodal Officer, representing RML Hospital. Medical teams, including doctors and nursing staff from both institutions, offered comprehensive health screening, diagnosis, and counseling.
Over 400 individuals benefited from the camp. More than 50 Safai Mitras and 200 officials received Ayurvedic consultations, while around 195 officials underwent preventive health checkups and allopathic consultations. Setting an example, PIB’s Principal Director General, Shri Dhirendra Ojha, arrived early and was the first to avail consultation from the AYUSH stream, encouraging staff to actively participate. The camp also highlighted the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, with active involvement from women employees, reinforcing the importance of women’s health and family wellness.
Recognizing the contributions of the medical teams, PIB Director General, Ms. Anupama Bhatnagar, presented certificates of appreciation to the doctors and healthcare professionals from AIIA and RML Hospital. The initiative reflected the government’s commitment to providing accessible, preventive, and integrative healthcare to sanitation workers and PIB staff, while aligning with the broader vision of inclusive welfare under Swachhata Hi Seva 2025.
