Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the Mega Health Camp 2025 in Raipur on 18 December 2025, marking the beginning of a five‑day free medical camp scheduled to run until 22 December 2025 at the Ayurvedic College campus.
The camp coincided with the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Ghasidas, underscoring the government’s aim to provide accessible healthcare services to citizens. The initiative is part of the state government’s broader effort to strengthen healthcare outreach, early diagnosis and treatment, especially in districts and communities with limited access to specialised care.
The camp brings together over 100 specialist doctors, including physicians, surgeons and medical experts from major hospitals in Chhattisgarh and other states, offering comprehensive health services such as consultations, diagnostics, preventive screenings, and treatment for common and complex medical conditions.
Facilities include X‑ray, echo, sonography, ECG, blood tests, and other laboratory investigations, along with free distribution of essential medicines. Special focus has been placed on breast cancer screening and early detection programs, using advanced medical equipment. Patients requiring further treatment are being referred to empanelled hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ensuring continuity of care without financial burden.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel, other ministers, local representatives, and a large gathering of citizens. The camp is structured to operate daily from morning to evening, accommodating large patient volumes and aiming to reduce the load on hospitals by delivering preventive and diagnostic services at the community level.
The Mega Health Camp exemplifies Chhattisgarh’s focus on public health awareness, early intervention, and universal healthcare access, targeting urban as well as rural populations, and promoting inclusive medical services across socioeconomic groups.
