The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, has launched SIDDHI 2.0 in Vijayawada, a national platform aimed at strengthening research–industry collaboration and accelerating innovation in the Ayurveda pharmaceutical sector. The two-day conclave was organised by the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Vijayawada, in partnership with CII.
During the inauguration, CCRAS released its medico-historical publication “Evolution of Ayurveda, Siddha & Unani Drug Regulations in India” and launched the Drug Inventory Management System portal.
SIDDHI 2.0 builds on the momentum of PRAGATI-2024 and focuses on research-led product development, technology advancement, and stronger industry partnerships.
Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya said, “Lifestyle-related diseases are on the rise and Ayurveda’s wellness-centric approach is increasingly relevant,” emphasising CCRAS’s commitment to collaborative research and equitable IPR sharing.
Shri K. Dinesh Kumar noted, “While modern science has increased lifespan, Ayurveda can ensure a healthier lifespan,” while proposing the establishment of a National Ayurveda Institute in Andhra Pradesh.
Dr N. Srikanth highlighted that CCRAS has validated more than 150 Ayurvedic formulations and urged industry players to use its extensive research data.
Industry representative Kiran Bhupatiraju stressed the need for modernising Ayurvedic herbs for global markets, and Dr V. Nagalakshmi said, “The full potential of Ayurveda remains to be realised,” calling for better alignment of research, education, and manufacturing.
The event hosted technical sessions, showcased CCRAS technologies, and explored collaboration opportunities. Over 100 delegates, including 25+ major Ayurvedic pharma companies, participated.
Positioned as a translational accelerator, SIDDHI 2.0 aims to enhance industry adoption of CCRAS technologies, strengthen regulatory and quality standards, and build a globally competitive Ayurveda ecosystem.
