Bihar Achieves National Milestones in Women’s Health under ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’

Bihar has set a national benchmark in the 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' (SNSPA), India’s largest-ever health outreach campaign for women and children. On 17 September 2025, the state achieved a record 1,16,487 Scan & Share Digital OPD Registrations in a single day, the highest in the country. Additionally, Bihar generated 1,00,393 ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) cards on the same day, marking the highest single-day achievement under the initiative across all states.

The SNSPA, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 September from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, aims to conduct 10 lakh health camps across the country by 2 October 2025, offering free screening for conditions such as anaemia, cancer, TB, sickle cell disease, and maternal and child health services. The campaign integrates with existing platforms like Anganwadis and leverages digital tools for monitoring, supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 by addressing gaps in maternal and child health identified in national surveys.

Under the leadership of Shri Shashank Shekhar Sinha, Special Secretary, Health and Additional CEO of the Bihar Health Protection Committee, Bihar has accelerated digital health adoption, streamlined service delivery, and strengthened its public health ecosystem. The State Health Agency (SHA), Bihar, played a pivotal role by coordinating hospital empanelment, digital OPD registrations, ABHA card generation, and monitoring services across districts, ensuring the campaign’s objectives are met efficiently.

Bihar's achievements in digital OPD registrations and ABHA card creation underscore the state's commitment to women-led development, universal health coverage, and sustainable healthcare access, key pillars of the SNSPA's vision.
