NCVET Grants Awarding Body Status To Dr. Reddy’s Foundation

By Team VOH

The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) has recognised Dr. Reddy’s Foundation (DRF) as an Awarding Body (Standard) following the signing of an agreement on 19 December 2025, enabling the Foundation to award, assess and certify learners trained directly by it in its own or fully managed campuses and training centres across approved qualifications.

As its first major initiative under this framework, NCVET approved the “Pharma Manufacturing Technician” qualification (NSQF Level 4), a 450‑hour course designed to develop high‑quality technical manpower for the Life Sciences sector. DRF also plans to introduce additional programmes in Future‑Ready Core Employability Skills, aligning with national efforts to expand flexible, inclusive and industry‑relevant skilling pathways for India’s youth.

The recognition aligns these vocational qualifications with the National Credit Framework (NCrF), allowing learners to accumulate and transfer credits to support both professional growth and continued academic progression. DRF has a long history of social impact, having reached over 2 million people with a focus on youth and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

Dr. Reddy’s Foundation was established in 1996 by Dr. Kallam Anji Reddy, the founder of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., one of India’s leading pharmaceutical companies, as its philanthropic and social impact arm to address education, healthcare, livelihood and inclusion.

This step highlights the growing link between industry‑aligned skilling and life sciences workforce development, underscoring the role of recognised vocational training in strengthening the talent pipeline for the pharmaceutical and allied sectors in India.
