Elekta has elevated Shankar S. as Managing Director – Elekta India and Head – Indian Subcontinent. In his new role, he will lead overall business growth and P&L operations across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan, as the company continues to strengthen its presence in cancer care and precision medicine in South Asia.
Shankar is a seasoned health-tech professional with strong experience in scaling medical technology businesses. He has been associated with Elekta for several years and most recently served as Vice President and Head – Indian Subcontinent. Earlier, he was General Manager – Sales, during which he played a key role in expanding market share and strengthening customer relationships.
Before joining Elekta, Shankar spent over two decades at Philips, where he held senior leadership roles across cardiology, ultrasound, critical care, X-ray and customer service. He has extensive experience in business turnaround, P&L management, market development and distributor management.
With this elevation, Elekta reinforces its confidence in Shankar’s leadership as it looks to drive sustainable growth across the region.
