Philips and Optum Partner to Expand Access to Cardiac Monitoring in the U.S.

Royal Philips , a global leader in health technology, has announced a nationwide partnership in the United States with Optum Healthcare. Under this collaboration, Philips’ Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCOT) and Extended Holter (ePatch) solutions will now be part of Optum’s network, enabling earlier detection of cardiac conditions and timely interventions. By widening access to advanced ambulatory cardiac monitoring and simplifying the referral pathway, the partnership aims to strengthen proactive care and improve patient outcomes. Philips’ solutions will now be available to 3.4 million Optum members across 22 states.

The integration of Philips’ technology within the Optum network brings key benefits to patients, providers, and payers alike. These include reduced delays in specialist referrals through streamlined processes, richer diagnostic insights to support more precise clinical decision-making, improved coordination of care throughout the patient journey, and higher patient compliance thanks to user-friendly monitoring devices. Together, these elements play a critical role in managing chronic cardiac conditions effectively.

“Today marks a great step forward in Philips’ ability to reach even more patients and help them receive the care they deserve,” said Julia Strandberg, Chief Business Leader, Connected Care, at Royal Philips. “As a preferred in-network provider, Philips’ cardiac ambulatory monitoring services empower primary care physicians and cardiologists with actionable data that enables them to build stronger collaboration across care teams and can ultimately improve patient outcomes.”

Through this alliance, Philips is extending access to its MCOT and ePatch cardiac monitoring technologies across commercial, Medicare, Medicare Advantage or Managed Medicare, and Medicaid plans. These wearable devices provide clinicians with valuable insights for accelerating data-driven cardiac care, while allowing patients to continue their daily routines with confidence. The partnership further supports providers in delivering efficient care and helps payers advance value-based healthcare models.
