Medtronic Unveils Advanced Valleylab FT10 Electrosurgical System in India

Medtronic has introduced its latest generation of electrosurgical devices in India, marking a step forward in surgical technology. The new offerings include the Valleylab FT10 Electrosurgical Generator (VLFT10FXGEN) and the Valleylab FT10 Vessel Sealing Generator (VLFT10LSGEN).

These devices incorporate TissueFect sensing technology, a feature that continuously monitors the properties of the tissue being treated and adjusts the energy output in real time. This dynamic response is intended to enhance surgical accuracy and reduce the risk of tissue damage.

The FT10 platform supports multiple energy modes, including monopolar, bipolar, and LigaSure™ technologies, and is driven by advanced sensors and rapid-response algorithms. This design enables it to adapt to variations in patient anatomy, surgical field conditions, and comorbid factors, helping ensure consistent energy delivery during operations.

According to Medtronic, this adaptability allows surgical teams to focus more on the patient and the procedure, rather than on adjusting device settings, potentially reducing operative times and facilitating better resource use in hospitals.

Speaking on the launch, Abhishek Bhargava, Senior Director of Medical Surgical at Medtronic India, said the new FT10 series equips clinicians with “advanced tools for safer, faster and more precise procedures,” while aiding healthcare providers in delivering high-quality, cost-effective care.

To support adoption, Medtronic plans to launch training and education initiatives for surgeons and operating room teams across Indian hospitals. The company aims for a phased rollout to make the new energy platform broadly available nationwide, bolstering its commitment to strengthening surgical infrastructure in India.
