FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation Unveils Advanced Automation Features for FDR Visionary Suite Digital Radiography System

FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation, a leader in medical imaging and informatics, has introduced a suite of advanced automation capabilities for its FDR Visionary Suite digital radiography room. Engineered for high-throughput environments such as hospital radiology departments and imaging centers, these new features aim to streamline workflow, enhance exam accuracy, and improve both patient and technologist experiences across a broad spectrum of general radiology procedures.

Among the key innovations is Intelligent Camera Assist, embedded in the collimator, which provides a live patient view from the control room and offers real-time positioning guidance. Optional motion detection assists with precise alignment, helping to reduce image retakes. The SpeedLink™ function further enhances efficiency by automatically configuring preferred exam-specific techniques, including dose-saving parameters and collimation field size.

To support technologist efficiency, the system incorporates automated positioning overlays and pre-exposure motion detection alerts, ensuring accurate imaging and reducing the need for repeat exams.

Designed with patient comfort and accessibility in mind, the FDR Visionary Suite accommodates individuals with limited mobility and a broad range of body types. It features a spacious, motorized tabletop with a 649-pound weight capacity and extended stroke. The system also enables automatic long-length imaging—up to 63 inches upright and 47 inches supine—and includes automated motion correction software to compensate for patient movement, facilitating high-quality imaging in as little as 20 seconds.

"Built to deliver exceptional performance and patient care, the FDR Visionary Suite’s advanced automation and features allow clinicians to conduct routine and complex exams with remarkable speed and precision," said Rob Fabrizio, Director of Strategic Marketing, Diagnostic Imaging at FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation. "With improved workflow and accuracy, radiographers can focus more on the patient and accelerate diagnosis and treatment."

The system is powered by Fujifilm’s state-of-the-art digital radiography (DR) detectors, which leverage cesium iodide and proprietary Irradiation Side Sampling (ISS) technology for ultra-low dose imaging without compromising image quality. At the heart of the workflow is the robust FDX Console, equipped with Dynamic Visualization—Fujifilm’s intelligent image processing platform. This technology dynamically adjusts contrast, visibility, and window leveling across the entire exposure field by recognizing key anatomical features, enabling more consistent and confident diagnostic interpretation.

Together, these advancements underscore Fujifilm’s commitment to innovation in radiographic imaging, offering healthcare providers tools to deliver faster, safer, and more accurate care.
