Yogi Adityanath pitched Uttar Pradesh’s emerging medical device ecosystem to Japanese investors during an interaction in Tokyo, positioning the state as a competitive manufacturing and innovation hub with strong policy backing and infrastructure support.
During the outreach, the Chief Minister highlighted the development of the Medical Device Park in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, describing it as a dedicated cluster designed to promote domestic manufacturing, reduce import dependence and strengthen India’s footprint in the global medical technology supply chain. He outlined the state government’s incentives, including capital subsidies, streamlined clearances and sector-specific support aimed at attracting foreign direct investment into high-value manufacturing segments.
Adityanath emphasised Uttar Pradesh’s large domestic market, improving logistics connectivity through expressways, freight corridors and proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport, as well as a growing skilled workforce. He underlined that the state’s industrial policies are aligned with the Centre’s push for self-reliance in medical devices and healthcare manufacturing, offering Japanese companies an opportunity to establish production bases catering to both Indian and export markets.
The Chief Minister invited Japanese firms to partner in manufacturing, research and technology transfer, noting that collaboration could help strengthen supply chains and create employment while expanding access to quality medical devices.
The Tokyo engagement formed part of a broader investment outreach aimed at deepening economic ties and drawing advanced manufacturing investments into Uttar Pradesh’s priority sectors, including medical technology and healthcare infrastructure.
