Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) has strengthened its oncology capabilities with the installation of two state-of-the-art cancer diagnostic machines, generously donated by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The equipment—a 3 TESLA MRI scanner and a 4D CT Simulator—worth a combined value of ₹22.01 crore, was virtually inaugurated by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri.
According to SVIMS officials, these advanced machines are expected to greatly improve early cancer detection and provide radiation-free diagnostic options. The initiative is projected to benefit more than 2.5 lakh underprivileged patients every year.
The event was attended by TTD Chairman and SVIMS governing body head B.R. Naidu, TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, and SVIMS Director Dr. R.V. Kumar. IOCL Director (Marketing), Satish Kumar, lauded SVIMS for its patient-focused care model and commitment to providing cutting-edge healthcare, especially in the field of women’s health.
Speaking on the occasion, B.R. Naidu noted that this contribution supports SVIMS' vision of emerging as one of India’s leading super-specialty hospitals, with a growing emphasis on oncology and advanced medical education.
