Santosh Marathe has taken charge as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Hospitals, Gujarat, as announced through his LinkedIn post. Sterling Hospitals is Gujarat’s first corporate hospital network, with over two decades of presence across Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Gandhidham. The network includes six NABH-accredited hospitals, including two cancer units, with a combined capacity of more than 1,000 beds.
Marathe brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the healthcare sector and an additional nine years across manufacturing, distribution and engineering industries. His career spans key roles such as COO at NMC Healthcare overseeing 16 JCI-accredited hospitals, Regional CEO at Apollo Hospitals managing seven hospitals, and CFO at American Hospital Dubai.
Known for his expertise in cost leadership, growth strategy, financial governance, physician engagement, technology-led process improvements, and multi-project management, Marathe has a reputation for driving operational excellence and resolving complex organisational challenges.
His experience also covers a wide range of specialties, including physician relationship management, pricing strategy, IT solutions such as EMR and HIMSS, financial modelling, business development, and quality and supply chain governance.
With his appointment, Sterling Hospitals is positioned to strengthen its strategic direction as it continues expanding its footprint and enhancing clinical excellence across Gujarat.
