Rainbow Children's Medicare Limited (RCML) has inaugurated a new 100-bed hospital in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, further strengthening its footprint in the state. This is RCML’s third paediatric multi-speciality facility in Andhra Pradesh, following its hospitals in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
Strategically positioned between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, the Rajahmundry hospital is set to function as a regional hub for the East Godavari and West Godavari districts, catering to the healthcare needs of nearly 10–12 million people across affluent tier-two cities and neighbouring regions.
The facility offers comprehensive paediatric and perinatal care, including 24/7 consultant-led emergency services, advanced NICU and PICU units, high-risk obstetrics, laparoscopic gynaecology, speciality paediatric clinics, foetal medicine, and fertility services through BirthRight by Rainbow.
This launch comes after recent hospital openings in Warangal and Guwahati, marking RCML’s third new facility in FY26. With this addition, the company’s network has grown to 22 hospitals and five clinics across nine cities, with a combined capacity of about 2,300 beds.
The development aligns with RCML’s long-term growth strategy of combining greenfield projects with selective acquisitions to expand in high-growth healthcare markets.
RCML chairman and managing director Ramesh Kancharla stated:
"The launch of our hospital in Rajahmundry is a significant step in Rainbow's journey of enabling quality paediatric and perinatal care across Andhra Pradesh.
“This 100-bed facility is designed to serve the Godavari belt, one of the most prominent growth corridors in the state. With 22 hospitals and around 2,300 beds today, we are on a strong trajectory to expand into new cities and deepen our presence, while building long-term value for our stakeholders.
“At Rainbow, our commitment has always been to take advanced care closer to where it is needed the most, and this expansion reflects that promise. We will continue to build and invest with the same focus, creating a healthcare ecosystem that children and mothers across India can rely on."
