President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a newly established Cancer Care Centre at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Thursday. The facility is designed to function as a comprehensive hub for cancer diagnosis, treatment, and long-term patient care.
During her visit, the President toured the advanced medical infrastructure and engaged with patients receiving care at the centre, according to a statement shared on her official ‘X’ handle.
The new centre is equipped to provide a full spectrum of oncology services, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation therapy, and day-care chemotherapy. “This centre offers cutting-edge diagnostic tools, therapeutic procedures, and post-treatment care for patients with all forms of cancer,” said Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairperson of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
The hospital emphasized that the President’s visit underscored the institution’s long-standing reputation for delivering ethical, affordable, and high-quality healthcare for more than 70 years.
