In a major boost to patient care, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital, Warangal — a 1,500-bed state-run facility — has partnered with the Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) to offer dedicated patient-support services.
The initiative was inaugurated on Tuesday by District Collector Dr. Satya Sharada. MGM Hospital, one of Telangana’s largest public hospitals, caters to over 3,000 outpatients and 750 emergency cases daily, serving patients from neighboring districts and tribal communities.
To streamline patient services, HHF has deployed seven trained Community Health Workers (CHWs). Three female CHWs will assist in the Outpatient Department (OPD) with registration, ABHA ID creation, pharmacy support, and government scheme documentation.
Four male CHWs are stationed in the Casualty and Emergency block to provide mobility support, including safe transfers of patients to surgery, radiology, and other critical departments.
Additionally, a helpline has been set up to ensure smooth referral pathways, especially for tribal patients, to government tertiary hospitals in Hyderabad where HHF also extends its services.
