Max Healthcare Expands To Pune

By Team VOH

Max Healthcare Institute Ltd is entering Pune with a major expansion plan that involves setting up a 450‑bed super specialty hospital in the Yerawada area, backed by an investment of over Rs 1,000 crore.

This new facility will be Max Healthcare’s first in Pune and its fourth hospital in Western India, underlining the company’s strategic growth in key urban healthcare markets.

The project includes the staggered acquisition of 100 per cent equity in Yerawada Properties Pvt Ltd (YPPL), the owner of a 1.68‑acre freehold land parcel in a central part of Pune. Once the transaction is complete, Max Healthcare will develop the hospital on the site. The investment will cover land acquisition, construction, medical equipment, stamp duty, registration charges and related costs.

The hospital is expected to be commissioned over the next three years, bringing advanced super specialty services to meet rising healthcare demand in Pune and surrounding regions driven by urban growth and a growing middle‑class population.

This expansion aligns with Max Healthcare’s broader footprint in the region and its long‑term vision of extending quality tertiary and quaternary medical care across India’s rapidly developing cities.
