DRDO, AIIMS Rishikesh Join Hands to Boost Biomedical Research for Extreme Environments

In a major stride toward advancing biomedical innovation, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has signed a collaborative agreement with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh. This partnership is focused on conducting clinical trials and cutting-edge research on biomedical devices designed to improve human performance in extreme conditions.

The initiative is being spearheaded by the Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS), a premier DRDO laboratory specializing in physiology and allied sciences. The collaboration is expected to yield new technologies, products, and strategies that help reduce the negative impact of harsh environments on human health and functionality.

Officials from both DRDO and AIIMS Rishikesh have emphasized that this alliance will not only deepen scientific insights but also translate into real-world applications aimed at enhancing resilience and operational efficiency in challenging settings.

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, the DRDO shared images from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony on its official social media channels.

This strategic partnership underlines India’s growing focus on high-impact biomedical research and showcases a unified effort to strengthen human endurance and safety in adverse environments.
