To promote awareness and knowledge-sharing on best practices in atherothrombectomy for vascular disease management, BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) India recently conducted a multi-city roadshow for Interventional Radiologists and Vascular Surgeons. The program featured a global Key Opinion Leader (KOL) — an Angiologist from the University Hospital, Leipzig, Germany — who led specialized clinical sessions across seven Indian cities.
Held in Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Chennai, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, and New Delhi, the roadshow convened leading physicians and healthcare institutions dedicated to adopting cutting-edge technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes in the vascular segment.
“At BD, our constant commitment is to bring advanced medical technologies to physicians and healthcare providers, with the goal of enabling better clinical outcomes and enhancing patients’ quality of life,” said Atul Grover, Managing Director, BD India/South Asia. “This roadshow aligned with our purpose of ‘Advancing the world of health’ and facilitated in-depth vascular care training for over 30 healthcare professionals across India. The sessions were enriched by the expertise of a global thought leader from Leipzig, Germany.”
The visiting expert conducted hands-on proctorships and led interactive clinical discussions, offering deep insights into international best practices for the use of mechanical atherothrombectomy in managing complex arterial and venous blockages.
Vascular diseases impair blood flow through arteries and veins, often leading to symptoms such as pain, swelling, and claudication. These conditions are primarily caused by plaque (fat deposits) or thrombus (blood clots) obstructing the blood vessels. If untreated, they can result in serious complications such as limb amputation or pulmonary embolism.
With the introduction of its advanced atherothrombectomy devices, BD India now delivers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions to support the effective treatment of vascular diseases, reinforcing its commitment to transforming vascular care in the country.
