Artemis Medicare Services Ltd. has entered a long‑term 15‑year Medical Services Agreement (MSA) to operate and manage a major new multi‑speciality hospital in Nehru Nagar, South Delhi, in partnership with the Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health and Neuro & Allied Sciences (VIMHANS).
Under the agreement, Artemis will serve as the exclusive healthcare operator for the facility, which is set to be developed with a built‑up area of around 7 lakh square feet and ultimately house more than 650 beds, strengthening the company’s presence in the capital’s healthcare market.
The project represents a significant strategic expansion for Artemis as it continues to scale its operations in the National Capital Region (NCR) and beyond. The planned capital expenditure for the development is estimated at ₹500–₹520 crore, with investments phased across construction milestones. Around ₹350–₹360 crore is earmarked for the initial phase, followed by a further ₹150–₹160 crore for subsequent expansion. These figures equate to roughly ₹75–₹80 lakh per bed.
Artemis will fund the investment through a mix of internal accruals and debt, with an interest‑free advance tied to construction milestones forming part of the financing structure.
Upon completion, the facility — to be branded VIMHANS Artemis Hospital — is expected to position Artemis Medicare as a key healthcare provider in South Delhi, addressing rising demand for quality tertiary and quaternary care services in the region. The location’s strong connectivity and access to a large patient population mean the hospital could play a pivotal role in the company’s expansion strategy, creating meaningful operational synergies with its existing NCR facilities.
The phased development approach allows Artemis to bring critical bed capacity online systematically, with the initial 450 beds targeted for operational readiness by FY29, while the remainder of the proposed capacity will be added over time. The agreement grants the company long‑term exclusive rights to manage and deliver medical services at the hospital, leveraging its expertise in clinical governance, digital integration, and service delivery.
This expansion aligns with Artemis Medicare’s broader growth vision of scaling to over 2,000 beds nationwide over the coming years, combining infrastructure growth with advanced clinical programs and technology‑led healthcare delivery.
Artemis, which already manages facilities such as its flagship hospital in Gurugram, sees the South Delhi project as a cornerstone of its strategy to build a high‑quality, future‑ready healthcare platform across major Indian cities.
