Apollo Home Healthcare Launches Senior Geriatric Services in Navi Mumbai in Collaboration with Apollo Hospitals

Apollo Home Healthcare, India’s leading home healthcare provider, in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals, has announced the launch of its Senior First Geriatric Program to extend specialized homecare services for senior citizens in the comfort of their homes in Mumbai. As part of this strategic move, Apollo homecare will emphasise on its Seniors First geriatric program in Mumbai in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai (AHNM).

India is at the cusp of a major demographic transition as by 2050, the country’s elderly population is projected to touch 319 million, almost one in every five Indians. Today, nearly three out of four seniors live with at least one chronic illness, while close to half face mobility or functional limitations. Yet, access to specialized geriatric care remains scarce. To address this challenge, Apollo Hospitals will offer a specialized clinic within the hospital tailored for seniors to provide a conducive environment, geriatric doctors and access to home care services, similar to dedicated mother and child care. Additionally, it will offer preventive, rehabilitative and chronic care support at the comfort of the elderly patients’ home.

Mr. Vishal Lathwal, CEO, Apollo Home Healthcare, said: Through Apollo Homecare’s integration with the Seniors First Geriatrics Clinic, we are bringing hospital-quality care into the comfort of seniors’ homes. A majority of cases show that recovery in a familiar home environment leads to better outcomes, and with seniors already forming a large share of our customers, the need is clear and substantial. This integrated care approach further ensures care continuity with added convenience and significantly better outcomes”

Previously launched in Bengaluru, Apollo Hospitals Geriatric Clinic delivers a wide spectrum of services in every aspect of senior well-being within the hospital, followed by homecare in Mumbai. This includes comprehensive geriatric assessments, chronic disease management, fall and frailty prevention programs, mobility and balance training, nutrition and dietary counselling, cognitive health support and mental wellness services.

Besides, seniors will also have access to post-operative care, physiotherapy and rehabilitation and concierge assistance for smooth hospital navigation. Through integration with Apollo Homecare and Apollo 24/7, essential services such as nursing care, physiotherapy, diagnostics and medication management will extend beyond hospital walls, creating a seamless circle of support for seniors and their families.

The Geriatrics Clinic forms an extension of Apollo’s commitment to “Seniors First”, a program designed to empower older adults to live independently, with dignity and vitality. Services at the clinic include comprehensive health assessments, proactive wellness screenings, nutrition and mobility support, cognitive health programs, and seamless access to Apollo’s integrated care network, encompassing hospital services, home healthcare, pharmacy, and teleconsultations.

The Geriatrics Clinic will also offer scientifically designed Wellness and Active Care Packages, structured around the globally recognized Clinical Frailty Scale. These packages integrate hospital visits, home care, nutrition counselling, physiotherapy, mental wellness sessions, and continuous health manager support, ensuring peace of mind for both seniors and their caregivers. Globally, such comprehensive care models have demonstrated up to a 50% reduction in hospital admissions and emergency visits among older adults, underscoring their long-term value.

Apollo Homecare’s comprehensive portfolio covers the majority of care needs at home - nursing and caretaker support, physiotherapy, doctor visits, diagnostics, sleep studies, medical equipment and more. Senior patients and their families can access these services easily through hospital enquiries, its dedicated helpline 1800 108 8586, website www.apollohomecare.com, or WhatsApp.

With this launch, Apollo Hospitals and its homecare vertical reinforce the commitment to being a centre of excellence for senior care, setting new standards in holistic, dignified and connected healthcare for the elderly.
