AIIMS  Jammu To Launch Global Centre Of Excellence For AI‑Driven Healthcare

By Team VOH

AIIMS Jammu has proposed the creation of a global Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, aiming to transform healthcare delivery through cutting‑edge technology. The centre is planned to integrate AI‑driven diagnostics, predictive medicine, telehealth solutions, robotic surgery assistance, and virtual care platforms to enhance both clinical efficiency and patient outcomes. The initiative seeks to accelerate diagnosis and treatment in critical medical fields such as oncology, neurology, cardiology, and emergency medicine, reducing delays and improving the accuracy of care.

The proposed centre will not only focus on patient services but also function as an international training hub, providing globally recognised certification programs for doctors, nurses, medical technicians, and researchers in the application of AI in healthcare systems. By offering advanced educational modules and practical exposure, the centre aims to create a skilled workforce capable of leveraging artificial intelligence to tackle complex medical challenges.

In addition to its educational and clinical roles, the AIIMS Jammu centre is envisioned as a platform for global collaboration, enabling research partnerships with leading universities, technology firms, and healthcare institutions worldwide. Through these collaborations, it plans to develop innovative AI solutions for early disease detection, personalized treatment plans, remote patient monitoring, and predictive analytics, making high‑quality care more accessible to both urban and rural populations.

The initiative is aligned with India’s broader digital health ambitions and positions Jammu as a potential hub for medical AI innovation. By combining advanced technology with practical healthcare applications, the centre aims to bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility, improve treatment outcomes, and strengthen India’s presence in the global medical technology landscape.
