A 100-bed ESIC hospital is set to come up in Ambala Cantonment, with the project now moving forward following a review led by Haryana minister Anil Vij. Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has been directed to allot land for the hospital in Sector 33 (Part-1), and the formal offer letter specifying the payment details is scheduled to be issued by December 16, 2025.
Once the allotment letter is provided and the required payment is made by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, construction of the hospital will begin.
The hospital is being established to serve insured workers and their dependent families living in and around Ambala Cantt, including those employed in the industrial zone near Sector 33 and the adjoining Saha area. The planned facility will include general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology and psychiatry. It will also feature 24×7 emergency and trauma care, intensive-care services, diagnostic and pathology laboratories, outpatient and inpatient facilities, and day-care services.
The hospital has been prioritised at the central-government level, and its progress has been reviewed to ensure that construction begins promptly once land is transferred. With Anil Vij monitoring developments related to the project and overseeing the procedural steps required from the state’s side, the hospital is now positioned to advance to its execution phase.
The establishment of this 100-bed ESIC hospital marks a key step toward strengthening medical infrastructure for insured workers in Ambala Cantonment and nearby industrial areas, as the land-allotment and construction processes enter their final preparatory stage.
