JP Nadda Inaugurates Yashoda Medicity's New AI-Enabled E-ICU Command Centre

By Team VOH

Union Health Minister JP Nadda inaugurated an AI-enabled E-ICU Command Centre at Yashoda Medicity, marking a step toward integrating advanced digital technologies into critical care delivery.

The newly launched facility uses artificial intelligence to enable real-time monitoring of intensive care patients and provide data-driven clinical support. The command centre is designed to assist doctors in early identification of patient deterioration, improve response times, and strengthen decision-making in high-risk cases.

A key feature of the initiative is its connectivity with MMG District Hospital, allowing specialists at Yashoda Medicity to remotely monitor and guide critical care management at the district hospital. This hub-and-spoke model aims to bridge gaps between tertiary-care expertise and public healthcare facilities, expanding access to advanced ICU support.

The development aligns with the Centre’s broader focus on digital health integration, including the use of artificial intelligence, telemedicine platforms, and technology-enabled infrastructure to improve patient safety and healthcare outcomes. The E-ICU system is expected to enhance clinical coordination, reduce preventable complications, and strengthen critical care services at the district level.

The inauguration underscores ongoing efforts to modernise healthcare delivery through technology-backed systems that improve efficiency, expand specialist reach, and support better treatment outcomes across facilities.
