Himachal Pradesh To Boost Healthcare With Online Services Integration

By Team VOH

The Himachal Pradesh government has directed the integration of online facilities across public health services to improve efficiency, accessibility and patient management statewide. The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu with senior officials from the Health Department, National Health Mission and the Directorate of Medical Education.

A committee led by the Health and Family Welfare Minister will be constituted to oversee the digital integration process and is expected to submit its recommendations within ten days. As part of the initiative, an online patient registration system will be introduced across government hospitals and medical institutions to streamline service delivery.

The government also plans to digitally map beneficiary data under the Himcare Scheme at the panchayat level, ensuring systematic recording of treatment-related information. In addition, the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) cardwill be linked with the Him Parivar Portal to enable seamless access to health records and welfare benefits.

Officials highlighted that the move will strengthen healthcare monitoring, improve grievance redressal mechanisms and enhance administrative planning. The state is simultaneously upgrading health infrastructure with assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to further improve healthcare capacity and service quality.
