Andy Robotic System by Amplitude Surgical Secures CE Mark, Strengthening Zydus MedTech’s Global Footprint

By Team VOH

Amplitude Surgical, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Zydus MedTech France SAS under Ahmedabad-based Zydus Lifesciences, has achieved a major milestone with its proprietary robotic surgical system, “Andy,” receiving CE mark approval. This certification validates the system’s adherence to stringent European standards of safety, performance, and quality, reinforcing its readiness for clinical use across Europe.

At the heart of Andy is Amplivision, Amplitude’s proprietary navigation platform that delivers precise, real-time intraoperative guidance. The CE-marked system combines this advanced navigation technology with robotic assistance developed in collaboration with eCential Robotics. The result is an integrated, next-generation solution designed to elevate the accuracy and reproducibility of orthopaedic procedures.

Positioned as a true surgical partner, Andy is built as a collaborative robot capable of performing bone resections with exceptional precision and consistency. Its design aims to enhance surgical confidence, minimize variability, and support improved patient outcomes. By setting a new standard for robot-assisted orthopaedic surgery, Andy is expected to have a meaningful impact on clinical practice across European operating rooms.

This milestone follows Zydus MedTech’s strategic acquisition of Amplitude Surgical earlier this year, marking a significant expansion of its global presence. With Andy’s CE mark approval, Zydus strengthens its position in the global medtech landscape while advancing the adoption of high-quality, technology-driven orthopaedic solutions.
