Taiwan Showcases AI, Precision Medicine & Device Innovation in Healthcare

One of the highlights was CancerFree Biotech Ltd., which has advanced precision oncology through its blood-derived tumor organoid platform. Requiring just 20 ml of blood, the platform enables patient-specific drug testing. By embedding AI into its workflow, CancerFree has halved testing time. Its recent collaboration with the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology marks a key step in expanding applications in Japan.

In telemedicine, QT Medical, Inc. demonstrated its FDA-cleared PCA 500 portable 12-lead ECG system, bringing hospital-grade diagnostics to homes, rural clinics, telehealth services, and clinical trials. Medimaging Integrated Solution Inc. (MiiS) showcased its expertise in optical sensing and medical imaging, providing vertically integrated solutions from components to finished devices. With an in-house regulatory team securing FDA clearance, MiiS positions itself as a one-stop provider. President Stefan Cheng emphasized the role of AI, robotics, and image sensing in shaping next-generation medical diagnosis.

Other innovators underscored Taiwan’s strength in market-ready healthcare applications. imedtac Co., Ltd. launched an AI-powered millimeter-wave radar system for non-contact vital signs monitoring—crucial in eldercare and ICU settings with staff shortages. Hukui Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a CDMO founded in 2013, showcased collaborations spanning wireless ultrasound scanners to disposable endoscopes. It also unveiled the patented “VitaShine Gamma Light”, aimed at dementia and Alzheimer’s prevention, while actively seeking U.S. distributors.

Together, these companies highlight Taiwan’s ambition to be a global partner in smart healthcare, integrating AI, precision medicine, and device innovation into scalable solutions.
