Danaher Unveils its Diagnostics Vision Paper to Shape Healthcare Transformation in Saudi Arabia

By Team VOH

Danaher Diagnostics, a global life sciences and technology innovator, has today launched its Vision Paper, outlining the company’s long-term commitment to the Kingdom, at Global Health Exhibition.

“Saudi Arabia stands at the threshold of a historic healthcare transformation, and diagnostics are its engine”, said Muhieddine Makkouk, Danaher Vice President and General Manager in Saudi Arabia. “Our commitment is clear: we aspire to be both a trusted partner and a supplier of technologies with the aim of strengthening the prevention of disease with the use of diagnostic solutions.”

Danaher Diagnostic Platforms and its four operating companies are deeply embedded in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare system. From expanding diagnostic access and accuracy to enabling a more efficient, resilient and patient-centered health system, our innovations are driving real progress.

The Vision Paper, ‘Shaping the Future of Healthcare in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’ sets out how diagnostics will serve as the foundation for prevention, precision, and equitable access to healthcare across the Saudi Arabian system. These efforts align directly with the goals of Vision 2030 and are designed to support local initiatives with the goal of co-creating value-based healthcare models.

Danaher envisions a healthcare system where diagnostics are seamlessly integrated at every point in the patient journey – from rapid point-of-care testing in emergency settings to precise diagnosis in maternal and women’s health care – diagnostics can support timely informed decisions across all care pathways. Within regional health clusters, diagnostics can act as the connective tissue linking hospitals, clinics and labs across the continuity of care, whether in Riyadh or remote regions.

Also attending the launch, and speaking at Global Health Exhibition, is Dr Murali Venkatesan, Global Head of Danaher Ventures and Corporate Vice President of Science Technology and Innovation.

“Our long-term success in Saudi Arabia depends on local partnerships and mutual investments – our Vision Paper sets out our commitment to exploring opportunities for even greater impact in the Kingdom, whether that’s through training or capacity building, all aimed at supporting the Kingdom’s goal of building a more resilient and patient-centered healthcare system,” Dr Venkatesan said.

With Saudi Arabia’s Health Sector Transformation Program reshaping healthcare, Danaher is uniquely placed to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround times and bring diagnostics closer to patients, ultimately helping build a healthier Saudi Arabia.

“We recognize transformation requires more than innovation – it demands collaboration. Our commitment to laboratory and hospital workforce training, driving new application pathways, offering pilot programs and entering public-private collaboration reffects a shared vision with Saudi Arabia – to create a healthcare system that is digitally enabled, prevention-focused, and globally competitive,” Mr Makkouk added.

Danaher has set out seven commitments to the Kingdom, including:

  •  Modernizing diagnostics infrastructure across regional clusters

  •  Expanding access to rapid point-of-care molecular and portable testing

  • Strengthening cancer care pathways

  •  Advancing AMR surveillance and response

Meaningful transformation takes time. This Vision Paper makes clear Danaher’s commitment to growing its diagnostic presence with Saudi Arabia by building trust, delivering value, and contributing to a healthcare system that is preventative, patient-centered, and future-ready.

The launch of the Vision Paper will be accompanied by a dedicated presence at the Global Health Exhibition (Stand number: H3.L20), where Danaher executives will be available to discuss the strategic recommendations for public-private partnerships, digital transformation, and workforce upskilling.
