Gujarat Kidney And Super Speciality IPO Sails Through Day 1 With 1.47x Subscription

The initial public offering of Gujarat Kidney and Super Speciality Ltd, a regional healthcare company operating a chain of mid-sized multi-speciality hospitals in central Gujarat, received 1.47 times subscription on the first day of bidding, with 1,94,25,792 shares bid against 1,32,26,880 shares on offer according to NSE data. 

Retail individual investors drove the strongest demand with 4.69 times subscription, non-institutional investors contributed 1.96 times, and qualified institutional buyers subscribed 0.34 times on the opening day. The company raised just over ₹100 crore from anchor investors ahead of the public issue.

The ₹251-crore IPO is entirely a fresh issue of up to 2.2 crore equity shares priced in a band of ₹108–₹114 per share, and remains open for subscription until December 24, 2025.

Proceeds are planned for a range of strategic uses, including the proposed acquisition of Parekhs Hospital in Ahmedabad, part-payment of the purchase consideration for the already acquired Ashwini Medical Centre, setting up a new hospital in Vadodara, buying robotics equipment for the Vadodara facility, additional share acquisition in subsidiary Harmony Medicare at Bharuch, repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings, funding inorganic growth through potential future acquisitions, and general corporate purposes.

Gujarat Kidney and Super Speciality operates seven multi-speciality hospitals with a total capacity of 490 beds and is proposed to list its shares on the BSE and NSE mainboards after the offer closes.
