AIMS Hospital Founder Plans ₹500 Crore Buyback of PE Investors’ Stake

By Team VOH

Narendra Pandey, founder of the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), is reportedly planning to repurchase the 49% stake held by private equity investors in the Faridabad-based hospital, according to people familiar with the matter.

Pandey is in discussions with the credit arms of Avendus, KKR, and Kotak, among others, to raise around ₹500 crore to finance the buyback of shares currently held by British International Investment (BII) and Orbimed.

The two PE firms had invested in Blue Sapphire Healthcare, the holding company of the 450-bed AIMS hospital, which Pandey — a Padma Shri awardee and noted thoracic surgeon — founded 15 years ago.

The hospital’s valuation is estimated at ₹1,000–₹1,200 crore.
